SPRING CLOTHE FOR WALL

Spring is said to be the season of pleasure, energy, happiness and excitement. It is believed that nature starts a new ‘life’. Furthermore, freshness which can be seen everywhere supports this idea. In my country, Iran, springs and the New Year concur. One of the richest and most long-standing traditions in Iran is that people wear new clothes so as to show their accordance with nature which they believe has superseded its old ”clothes” with new ones.

This project aims to give a new ”life” to one old wall located in an old district of the city. The purpose is to adorn the appearance of the wall so that it reflects one aspect of the beauty of spring. The decoration is done in order for the wall to match with its beautiful surroundings. I made 150 colorful paper pinwheels with my extra posters and hung them on the wall. As the wind blew, they circled around and made the scene far more beautiful.
